GO FOR IT (DIGITAL INCLUSION SUPPORT)

Go For I.T

Go for I.T (Digital Inclusion Support)

A project to help older people in Neath Port Talbot understand the importance and value of digital technology.

The 'Go For I.T' project helps older people get to grips with digital technology, helping participants to stay in touch with family and friends and embrace digital technology to make everyday tasks safer and easier.

The project is aimed at residents living in rural areas of the borough and is delivered through a non-syllabus, user-led programme in a fun and practical environment. Digital inclusion/support sessions are delivered within our Outreach Hubs, Community Facilities and one to one support sessions, enabling older people to learn from and within the communities in which they live.

If you would like to get involved in the project, you can look forward to gaining support in areas such as digital equipment, internet searching, social media, online shopping, mobile phone technology, local service directories, internet banking, online prescriptions, digital health tools and much more.

“I have had my iPad for two years and have struggled to use it, meaning it hasn’t come out of the box. In the first two weeks of attending, I have bags more confidence and am learning something new every week”

The service which has been supported by the Welsh Government Rural Communities Rural Development Programme (RDP) which is jointly funded by the European Union as part of the Common Agricultural Policy through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government is focusing on reaching some of the most isolated older people in the area.
